As an artist I'm messy, I get tired and bored easily and I don’t always love the tidy up part, however there isn’t anything I’d rather be doing that creating if it’s printing, painting or collage I love it all. Last year I took a trip to America, New Jersey for a month, I visited New York a lot and even though I grew up just on the outskirts of a city this felt like a turning point in my journey of creativity. I had never felt so open and free than the way I did in New York, I met new people along the way who now are my dearest friends and I was totally blown away by the urban side to NY. A totally dream scape is what it is made out to be by TV and media, however when you really explore the city you find much more interesting things than just skylines and rooftops. Graffiti, layers and decay is where my style has settled and I hope to continue forward into my career.

My trip to New York also opened up a lot of new creative outlets for me as I now regularly write my own poetry which I always wanted to do but never felt I could, I haven’t shared my words yet but hope to share soon along side new and exciting projects inspired by New York and urban life. I won the Spex Pistols 2nd place award at my recent degree show for most engaging degree show which I am so grateful and proud of have received. Spex Pistols is a glasses and all things cute shop based in Dundee and to have a cool and local store recognise my work means so much to me.
