Quotes

Themes of life and death, science and intervention play through my work. Predominantly the painted surface is used as a mirror for the audience to a digital space. I’m interested in retelling a narrative, blurring the boundaries between paint and digital, to make art that speaks.

Tina Scahill

Tina Scahill is a multidisciplinary graphic designer and artist based in Andover, Hampshire. A graduate of the University of Winchester, Tina’s practice spans both digital media and traditional painting, where she intertwines text, poetry, and personal stories to craft narratives that evoke memories, emotions, and reflections on life’s core themes. Exploring concepts such as life and death, science, and human intervention, Tina’s paintings often serve as mirrors, inviting viewers to engage deeply with the work.

In her digital explorations, Tina blurs the boundaries between painting and technology, creating art that engages audiences intimately through mobile devices, fostering a conversation between narrative, viewer, and artist. Her recent projects include Themes of Life (CAS, 2020) and Underearth.co.uk (CAS, 2022), where she collaborated with other artists to push the boundaries of digital storytelling. In addition to her artistic work, Tina shares her expertise as a visiting lecturer at the University of Winchester, where she is passionate about teaching and mentoring emerging artists.

Tina’s work has been showcased in regional exhibitions across Hampshire, including Romsey, Stockbridge, Winchester, and Andover, and in a touring show at the Pie Factory in Margate in 2022. Her works are held in private collections, reflecting her influence since her exhibition debut in 2018.
